Chore Chart Maker

Type the chores, one per line, and print a weekly chart with a tick box for each day. Add more than one name and every child gets their own chart with their name across the top. A line at the bottom holds the reward for a full week.

How it works

Three steps to a printed page

  1. Type the chores, one per line. Up to 15 fit on a page.

  2. Add names, one per line, if you want a chart for each child.

  3. Press Print. Charts print sideways so every day has room.

Chores by age

Ages 2 to 3: put toys in a bin, put clothes in the hamper, help feed a pet. Ages 4 to 5: make the bed (badly is fine), set out napkins and spoons, water plants. Ages 6 to 8: clear the table, put away clean laundry, pack their own school bag. Ages 9 and up: load the dishwasher, take out trash and recycling, vacuum a room.

Five to seven chores a day is plenty for most kids. A chart they can finish feels better than a long list they give up on by Wednesday.

Keeping it going past the first week

Print four weeks at once and keep the spares in a drawer, so a new chart is ready on Sunday night. Slip the chart into a sheet protector and kids can tick boxes with a dry-erase marker, then wipe it clean for next week.

Help

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make a chore chart for several kids at once?

Yes. Type each name on its own line in the Names box and you get one chart per child, each with the same chores and their name in the title.

Can the chart show only school days?

Yes. Choose "Monday to Friday" under Days. Open More options to start full weeks on Sunday instead of Monday.

How many chores fit on one chart?

Up to 15. With fewer chores, the rows and tick boxes get bigger, which is easier for young kids.
