Frequently Asked Questions

Why use large guitar tab?

From a music stand an arm’s length away, small tab numbers are hard to read. Six staves per page makes each line about twice as tall.

What is staff paper?

Paper printed with sets of five lines (staves) for writing music notes. It's also called manuscript paper or blank sheet music.

Which line of guitar tab is the low E string?

The bottom line. Tab is drawn as if you were looking down at the guitar on your lap, so the thinnest string is on top.
